Meet Our Leadership Team
Briana grew up in (picturesque) upstate New York and graduated from SUNY Binghamton. After a couple of years in (not-so-picturesque to a college grad) upstate New York, she enrolled in Rutgers Law School in (not picturesque at all) Newark, New Jersey. She spent the next 6+ years working (slaving away) as a corporate tax lawyer in New York law firms (silver lining, it’s where she met her husband). She successfully escaped Big Law in 2005 and went to work for Ingersoll Rand Co. (again practicing tax law) in Piscataway, New Jersey.
After (finally) discovering that there is more to life than tax (like tennis and group fitness!), Briana teamed up with her neighbor (and good friend) Sara Reeder and (amazing) tennis pro, Michael Romeo to buy Murray Hill. She currently lives in Summit, NJ with her husband, son, daughter, horse, dogs, cat, hermit crab and fish.
Sara is possibly tennis’ biggest fan (and she is undoubtedly Murray Hill’s!) The opportunity to assistant coach for Drew University during spring 2015 was a pivotal experience. Becoming part of a tennis and fitness community sparked a desire to transform her longtime passion into a lifetime career. That dream became a reality when Sara (and Briana and Mike) purchased Murray Hill Tennis & Fitness. These days she can often be found in the office strategizing ways to better the club, or on court (with Briana) strategizing how to win their next point.
Sara happily resides in Summit, NJ with her husband Tyler, their three children, and Murray, their Wheaton terrier. She is a native Minnesotan and former corporate lawyer. As of 2016 she is PTR Certified.
DIRECTOR OF TENNIS - USPTA CERTIFIED (since 2003); PTR CERTIFIED (since 2013)
Mike’s goal is to deliver an amazing lesson every time he steps on the court.
He has been a part of the New Jersey tennis community for most of his life. After playing Division I tennis at Seton Hall University, Mike launched his professional teaching career at West Orange Tennis Club in NJ (1992 - 2008). He later became the Head Tennis Professional at the Tennis Center of the Black Hills in Rapid City, SD. Upon returning to his NJ roots, Mike assumed the title of Assistant Racquets Professional at The Short Hills Club. More recently, he was Senior Tennis Professional at The Strand Tennis Center in Chatham, NJ for a number of years.
At Murray Hill, his passion for teaching is as strong as ever. He works hard at honing his craft, and keeping his teaching fresh. Mike is also an avid racquet technician with over 25 years of experience stringing and repairing tennis racquets.
Mike lives with his wife and two adorable daughters in Lake Hiawatha, NJ.

Director of operations
Gina Voorhees is the keeper of the snack closet keys. On a given day she might be answering a phone, managing attendance, booking lessons, restocking the vending machine, giving status updates to the rest of the management team, singing baby shark to baby Aery and chatting with clients…simultaneously. She loves foster dogs and her husband Steve. She enjoys shopping and cajun food. Her ability to manage operations at Murray Hill comes from raising three boys and running a kindergarten classroom for twenty years. Those things have also given her patience, a love of people and the ability to multitask. And a 6th sense of knowing when one of us is trying to pilfer Doritos out of the snack closet.
